Florida is home to some of the more beautiful scenery and interesting historic sites in the country. An abundance of activities and unique events are available year-round. One of the more popular of these activities is scuba diving, available at approximately 25 parks throughout the state. Another popular activity is the campfire circle. This activity, offered at approximately 12 parks, includes a campfire circle and amphitheater for camper gatherings. During the summer, a ranger presents interpretive programs.
The
majority of Florida state parks are open from 8:00 a.m. to sunset every day
of the year. Some museums, visitor centers, and historic sites may be closed
two days per week, and their operating hours may vary.
The entrance fee into most state parks is $3.25 per carload for up to eight
people. Selected parks are $4.00 per carload. Extra persons, walk-ins, and bicyclists
are $1.00 per person.
